The Aerovox 4438-P (D84W4024M) is a high-reliability dry film metallized polypropylene capacitor designed specifically for High-Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting ballasts. Operating at a voltage rating of 400VAC, it provides a capacitance of 24 uF (microfarads) with a tight tolerance of 3%. Engineered for severe duty applications, it delivers a rated operating life of at least 60,000 hours at maximum temperatures reaching up to 100'C?105'C. Encased in a durable, plastic round housing, it features 18 AWG stranded wire lead terminations for easy installation into ballast kits. It is commonly used to operate 400W metal halide (M59) and 350W pulse start HID fixtures. Additionally, it satisfies EIA-456-A standards, includes UL-810 fault current protection, and is RoHS compliant.
